It’s good to just sew! Although I love designing and creating my patterns it can be a long drawn out process due to the step-by-step photographs and instructions.
I can’t resist making owls and loved creating the pattern for these little cuties. They are so quick and easy to make that it’s impossible to make just one!
I made the pattern for these Dizzy Izzy Kitty cat dolls a while ago and love their sweet little faces with pink noses and cute button eyes. Inspiration came from our own adorable cat family.

Over the last week or two I’ve been working on a new felt pattern design for my shop. I’ve enjoyed creating this pattern so much that I started to ask myself why crafting and sewing makes me feel good.
Is it the cuteness factor I wonder?
This is Flora the Owl, she’s gorgeous isn’t she? Flora was one of my very first crafty creations and she now lives in Norway. She is such a popular girl and has had so many repins and likes on Pinterest.
I love to design and create and usually have lots of exciting ideas running around my head at one time. I’ve a mountain of bits of paper with sketches and doodles on them but only a few make it to the design stage…. So HOW does an idea evolve into a pattern and then a finished cutie?
I have always loved applique and have admired the lovely work of others many times, especially when gorgeous fabrics have been used to create a beautiful image.
So I thought I’d try my hand at designing and creating some simple applique craft patterns using just felt and a few simple hand stitches.
